The following piece was written to promote Abingdon Theatre Company's staged reading presentation of STEEL MAGNOLIAS on May 20, 2019. The reading was staged as part of the company's newfound One Night Only series, in honor of the film's 30th anniversary. Piece includes interviews with company Artistic Director Chad Austin, actor Carrie St. Louis, director Blanche Baker and playwright Robert Harling.
