Hey there.
My name is Matt Smith. I’m a writer based in New York, with a focus mainly in the theatre and entertainment fields. For the last several years, I've had the pleasure of interviewing all sorts of famous faces in the theatrical community, from directors and producers to playwrights and performers.
My work has appeared within a wide variety of theatrical publications, including online at Playbill.com, BroadwayWorld.com, TheaterPizzazz.com, and StageBuddy.com, and in print in CityGuide Magazine. My portfolio runs the gamut, from short interviews and listicles to lengthier features and reviews.
And although it may be my primary focus, my work in theatre is not limited to writing! I've previously stage managed two productions with the grassroots Shakespearean theatre company, What Dreams May Co., I've served as a production assistant on Broadway Nosh, a cooking-based web series which ran for two seasons exclusively on Broadway.com, and I've debuted my own full-length play with Manhattan Repertory Theatre, which was recently edited and released as my first published print book! (Okay, that last one does have to do with writing, but still...)
In short, I have an incredible passion for everything that I do, and I'd wholeheartedly welcome any opportunity to show and share this passion with others. If you have any questions or would like to reach out, please don’t hesitate to visit the Contact page and drop me a line! Would love to hear anything you have to say!
Thanks again for taking a look at my site! I hope you enjoy what you see!
